ODM party secretary general Edwin Sifuna yesterday received the wrath of the Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa during the burial of Mombasa Deputy Governor William Kingi’s father.
Aisha has been facing off with Raila Odinga since her expelled from the party due to disciplinary matters.
Aisha couldn’t allow the ODM SG to address the mourners as she grabbed the microphone.
As Mr Sifuna began to speak, Ms Jumwa, who was the master of ceremonies, walked to the stage and grabbed the microphone from him, accusing him of “talking politics during funeral”.
Mr Sifuna had introduced himself as the messenger of ODM leader Raila Odinga, who had sent him to convey his message of condolence to the family of the late Edward Benjamin Kingi.
A source who attended the funeral has hinted that Jumwa accused Sifuna of being behind her woes.
Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa on march found reprieve after Political Parties Disputes Tribunal temporarily stopped her expulsion from ODM.
The tribunal’s deputy registrar stopped the removal Ms Jumwa’s name from the Orange Democratic Movement membership list Monday evening and ordered for an inter parties hearing on March 8.
The party, however, ejected the Malindi lawmaker accusing her of advancing the interests of another party by openly campaigning for the DP to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta when he retires in 2022.
Jumwa has been promoting Ruto’s presidential bid in coastal region.
The DP has been facing opposition within the coast province as he is being accused of being corrupt.
