Kiambu silent as Kabogo and Waititu face off over Ridiculous Budget

Former Kiambu governor William Kabogo is breathing fire as Waititu claim that he was behind the ridiculous budget presented to the Senate County Public Accounts and Investment Committee.

Speaking on phone interview Kabogo states Waititu should carry his own cross as blame game won’t help.

Kabogo states “Shame on Waititu trying to shift blame. Ask your assembly for this information. I’m not surprised that you got no clue in what is where.” Kabogo said on Twitter.

“Waititu might not have the clue of what he talking, the blame game won’t help and he should explain to Kenya on how he spent the money,” Kabogo said.

The Senate Public Accounts Committee revealed on Thursday that governor Waititu’s government had spent close to Ksh3 billion on activities like administration of Benefits to the retired President, coordination of State House, Free Primary Education, and support of South Sudan’s Peace Keeping process.

While speaking on local television, Waititu said the budget was for the year 2017/18 and had been prepared by the previous government of William Kabogo.

” It’s actually not us who did this budget but for the previous Government, under Governor Kabogo,” he stated.

He further pointed finger to area senator Kimani Wamatangi.

Already there have been calls for the arrest of the Waititu who has on several times accused of misappropriating county fund.

Kiambu County Assembly MCA who has sought anonymity has hinted that the MCAs have plotted a motion of impeachment against the governor.

“Yes its true,we have planned a motion to impeach Waititu who has been running the County as own affairs,he has no option unless he changes tactics,”he said.

The MCA further states that Waititu has been on mission of authorizing withdrawal of money from coffers where millions can’t e accounted for.

Kiambu town MP Jude Jomo has called on the EACC to investigate Waititu over corruption issues.

“Revenues collected daily cannot be tracked, which has seen individual staff run away with as much as Sh1 million,” He said.

“I call the EACC to investigate what is happening in Kiambu County,”he said. Governor Ferdinand Waititu and Kiambu county bosses have seven days to respond to anti-graft agency audit queries or risk arrest.
