Man Utd Agrees To Ole Gunnar’s Transfer Request

Manchester United boss Solskjaer is eager to overhaul his squad when the transfer window reopens at the end of the season.

Years of Woodward hiring and then firing managers has led to a group of players who appear unsuited to the Red Devils and unable to provide the results fans want.

Solskjaer, as a Manchester United man, is well-aware of what the club should be like and believes more is required if they are to challenge for major honors going forward.

And the Evening Standard say Woodward has agreed for a greater ‘churn’ of players than initially desired.

Ideally, the United supremo would like to sell three and sign three.

Last summer, he moved on the likes of Daley Blind and Sam Johnstone, while also seeing Michael Carrick retire.

And he then brought in Fred, Diogo Dalot and veteran goalkeeper Lee Grant.

However, the Evening Standard say Woodward is prepared to offload various players at the very start of the Solskjaer revolution.

The 46-year-old recently hinted at a squad culling, saying: “If you want to play at this club, it has to mean more.

“I want my team to be the hardest working team in the league, that is what we were under Sir Alex, that’s what we’ve always been.

“No matter how much talent you have got, you run more than anyone. We know our fitness is nowhere near good enough.

“But we have to stick together as a team. You can’t change your whole squad. One step at a time.

“I am going to be successful here and there are players who won’t be part of that successful team but many of these do have it.”

Several United players are likely to be shown the door or leaving on a free transfer.

Ander Herrera, Juan Mata and club captain Antonio Valencia are all likely to depart for nothing.

However, United may look to get a handsome fee for Romelu Lukaku, who has been flirting with a move away to Italy.

And Alexis Sanchez, Eric Bailly and Matteo Darmian are all facing uncertain futures at Old Trafford.
