Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria became a butt of all jokes on the internet after his team Mt. Kenya United refused to play Gor Mahia in a league match, citing lack of salaries.

The team was supposed to face Gor in Machakos but they chose to go to city stadium, where the players and technical bench said they have not been paid for seven months by their boss Moses Kuria.

Kuria joined Mt. Kenya United, formerly called Nakumatt FC in November last year. He co-owns the club with businessman Francis Mureithi.

“Mount Kenya is a dream I have held over a long time and this will only be good news for Kenyan football. Our immediate focus is to win the 2018/2019 Kenyan Premier League title.”

And now Kenyans are questioning what went wrong after the politician ran away from his team.

Gor Mahia fans have had a field day roasting Kuria on social media, especially since he said he was looking at dethroning them as the biggest club in Kenya.

Now imagine, Kuria wants to be President in 2022. A man who can’t manage a team of less than 32 members wants to be trusted with the affairs of the whole nation.

In fact Moses Kuria has attended very few matches, and only makes noise when they win.

Mt. Kenya is the only football club from central Kenya. currently playing in the Kenya Premier League.

The fact that it is facing relegation should be an embarrassment to everyone including President Kenyatta.
