Nakuru governor Lee Kinyanjui and his deputy are on extensive gear to market Nakuru County as a tourist hub.
The County last year received over 426,000 tourists in Hell’s Gate, Mt Longonot and Lake Nakuru National Parks.
Speaking while hosting tourist Cabinet Secretary Najib Balalaq, Dr. Erick Korir, the county deputy governor said that County offers various aspects of tourism including medical, religious, film, sports, Agricultural, and wildlife.
“This morning, I attended the Nakuru County Tourism Association forum, chaired by Tourism and Wildlife CS Hon. Najib Balala,” he posted on Facebook.
Mr. Korir regrets that political instability and the pricing of the hotels determine the number of tourists in any destination.
“I thanked the Kenya Wildlife Service for helping with Human-Wildlife conflict situations but also asked for a follow up in the compensation of the victims,” he said.
The County Government is working with the County security team and the Tourism Police Unit to ensure all the destinations and hotels are secure for our visitors.
He was joined by Trade and Tourism CECM Raymond Komen and stakeholders in the tourism industry.
