The late Ivy Wangechi who was hacked to death by her Mr Naftali Kinuthia was finally laid to rest at her parent’s home in Mariga, Nyeri County.
Kenyans from all walks of lives converged at her burial to pay their last respect to the deceased lady who was pursuing medicine at Moi University.
She was set to graduate as a medical doctor in December but her life was cut short by a man believed to be her boyfriend.
Before her brutal murder at the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital, Ivy’s star was still shinning in the medical school, her lecturers and colleagues describe her as a bright student.
The victim’s friends said Mr Kinuthia, Ms Wangechi’s former schoolmate, had been obsessed with her.
“He claimed he invested a lot in the girl but that she did not reciprocate his kindness and financial support. That is why he decided to take her life,” ~ Eldoret East DCI boss Ali King said after interrogating Mr Kinuthia.
In Ivy’s Euology read yesterday, her family expressed how they were tormented by social media idlers who started spreading all manner of rumours after their daughter was brutally killed.
“Can’t a woman be beautiful with brains and at the same time have morals?” ~ The family asked in the eulogy.
