Relationships are hard!

We can all agree on that. For some people it’s hard get into a relationship, hard being in a relationship and hard ending one. Some thing that you may have to contend with is a controlling partner (May God forbid it-o). Here are some signs to look out for in case your boo is controlling

1.They trash talk your friends

Does your man always disparage your girlfriends and trash talk their behaviour or  their looks? This is a tactic made up to make you have to choose a side. It’s either hi or them. I don’t know about you but if I’ve had my friends my whole life and just met the guy recently, guess who I would pick?

2.They call and text you ALL the damn time

Texts twice a day is limit. Right? RIGHT? if your man is texting and calling  you every living minute of the day, then sis what are you people talking about? You are the same as the last time he called you 5 minutes ago. Tell the man to chill. Eish!

3.Show up to places in a creepy way

If your boyfriend keeps showing up to your work place or at brunch with your girlfriends without informing you. Issa problem. I mean… Who does that? Unless you guys made definite specific plans to hang out together then…what is even happening here sis? We all need time apart from our partners to hang out with our own friends and family and they should not interfere with that pris.

4.They criticize everything little thing you do

This is very subtle and if you don’t pay attention you may notice your partner pouting  every time you go out with your friends, until you start dodging their dinner invitations just to spare yourself the stress. or making negative comments about your friends until you start to believe them. Run girl, run.

Girls, It’s really never that serious. A person who can get away with controlling can get away with abusing you. It’s up to you to figure out whether or not, this is how you would like to be treated.
