Dennis Itumbi dedicates a cool poem to Huduma Namba

State House Digital Director Dennis Itumbi is well known for his unique way of expressing issues of public concern.

Itumbi has gone out of his way to educate Kenyans on the importance of the on going Huduma Namba Registration.

Taking to his social media account, Itumbi dedicated a poem to explain the need of getting the number.

Dear Huduma Namba,

This is a letter to myself. ( It may be long, I love them that way)

I am one of those not happy with the communication that we must register for Huduma Namba or else no government service.

But I will register for the number.

Why?Because Government is admitting that the many numbers given in the past were just that disconnected numbers.

NHIF, NSSF, ID, DL, Passport etc were just numbers identifying me but not connected to each other.

Bold admission by Government.

It does not stop there, Government has then gone ahead to suggest a solution and committed to make it work under Huduma.

He went on to say ;

Secondly, I lose nothing by giving my biometrics, I queued to give them to IEBC, each time I lose an ID I take fingerprints anyway.

Government is telling me, I will not have to do it anymore, just once more and that chapter is closed.

Why not? I will do it once more.

Over the years we have suspected government and questioned every move the state makes, that is normal.

However, the Government is still the one body we trust to deliver our security and grant us services as citizens. It starts by paying taxes and I pay my taxes religiously.

Kenya on Tuesday joined the league of developed countries like the US, Europe, the United Arabs Emirates, India and Australia when it launched the National Integrated Identity Management System (NIIMS).

President Uhuru Kenyatta led the exercise by signing for his own Huduma Namba and flagging off distribution of NIIMS registration kits to all the 47 counties.

He rolled out the project at Masii Public Grounds in Machakos County while opposition leaders Raila Odinga, Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetang’ula oversaw the exercise in Mombasa, Murang’a and Kajiado in a historic demonstration of national unity and common purpose.

NIIMs, also dubbed Huduma Namba, will use integrated data systems to manage citizens’ information.

The project seeks to identify all Kenyan residents through a unique primary identifier.
