Elgeyo Marakwet senator and Majority leader Kipchumba Murkomen has cheekly mocked his Siaya counterpart and Minority leader James Orengo
following a report by Auditor General that exposed anomalies in the Siaya County expenditures 2017/18.

In the report, Sh700 million pending bills could not be supported by the county. Also, Sh130 million claimed legal fees could also not be supported by the county government, an indication that the money could have been lost.

And in a tweet, the Elgeyo-Marakwet senator seemingly suggested that his Siaya counterpart could have been a beneficiary of the massive looting in the counties.

“Senator @orengo_james and I have serious work to do in among others Siaya County. I really hope my colleague has never done legal work for his county or acted for Governor Rasanga,” wrote Murkomen.

The report which was released on Wednesday only gave Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana and his Nyandarua counterpart Francis Kimemia clean bill of health in county spending since all expenditures were accounted for.

And Murkomen was also excited with Makueni County latest fiscal report in which Auditor General Edward Ouko gave them Unqualified opinion meaning that everything was accounted for.

“Congratulations @OfficialMakueni @governorkibwana & @adelinamwau The Senate recognizes and admires the good work you are doing. You have been cooperating with the Senate on matters of financial oversight through our County Public Accounts Committee. God bless you,” he said.

Mr Orengo has threatened to impeach DP William Ruto, a move that has caused jitters within the Jubilee party. Orengo has however distanced Raila Odinga from his plans.
