Jose Mourinho’s Final Destination Revealed

Former Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, who was sacked by the Red Devils in December after his third season syndrome happened again, has been rumoured to be heading to either German Bundesliga defending champions Bayern Munich or French League one defending champions Paris Saint-Germain, but the Portuguese looks to be heading to France, but to another team.

The 56-year-old Portuguese boss is seen as one of the best managers of all term with lots of trophies to his name, but there is just one stain in his career, he never stays beyond the third season. The only club he was not sacked in his third season since leaving Porto was Italian giants Inter Milan, where he won the treble.

Since his sack by Manchester United, he has taken up punditry jobs, most popular was with BeIN sports, where he worked temporarily at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia, and also in the el clasico match between his former club Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Mourinho has been out of job as a manager since he was sacked by Manchester United in December, and he was heavily linked with a return to Real Madrid, where he won two major trophies before he was eventually sacked after the final cup loss at home to Atletico Madrid, but he lost out to Zinedine Zidane. But the latest report now says he wants an adventure in France.

According to Wednesday’s edition of publication from French magazine L’Equipe, Jose Mourinho has identified either Lyon or Monaco as his preferred next destination, as opposed to the initial rumour that he was reportedly plotting a move to join leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

Lyon are currently third in the Ligue 1 standings, 24 points behind leaders PSG, and just 4 pointe behind second-placed Lille. Lyon were knocked out of the UEFA Champions League by competition favourites 5-1 on aggregate after playing a goalless draw in France in the first leg.

But the story is not the same thing for AS Monaco, who have had a tumultuous season where they replaced manager Leonardo Jardim with French football legend Thierry Henry, only to return to Jardim when Henry failed to galvanise the side.

They are 16th in Ligue 1, eight points clear of the bottom three but L’Equipe suggests it is unlikely Mourinho will head there as he shares the same agent as Jardim. Mourinho was linked with a return to Real Madrid earlier this year as pressure mounted on Santiago Solari. But the Spanish giants instead went for another former manager in Zinedine Zidane.
