The Queen has given Meghan Markle and Prince Harry permission to base their new household at Buckingham Palace.
The couple will split from the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s Kensington Palace household in the spring.
They have selected Hilliary Clinton’s campaign advisor Sara Latham to head up their new communications team.
The new household will be created with the support of the Queen and Prince Charles.
The palace said: “This long-planned move will ensure that permanent support arrangements for The Duke and Duchess’s work are in place as they start their family and move to their official residence at Frogmore Cottage .”
When Meghan and Harry break away from the Kensington Palace household, their backroom staff will split and there may be a shift in the direction of their public works.
However the Fab Four will remain joint patrons of the Royal Foundation, which is the primary charitable body for the Cambridges and Sussexes.
It’s also likely that they will continue working together on big projects like their Heads Together mental health campaign.
Meghan and Harry’s new communications staff will form part of the Buckingham Palace communications team and report to the Queen’s Communications Secretary, Donal McCabe.
Sara Latham was a senior member of Hillary Clinton’s 2016 team. When it finished she became a managing partner at Freuds during a time of ‘radical’ structural changes.
Meghan and Harry are due to move out of the Kensington Palace home, which is just a few doors down from Kate, William, George, Charlotte and Louis, any day now.
They are moving to Frogmore Cottage in Windsor, which is next door to where they had their evening wedding celebrations last year.
The property has undergone a huge renovation to turn it into the perfect family home.
It is believed Meghan has carried out her last public engagement before her maternity leave , but she will continue with private meetings.
