Arsenal fans are now on meltdown after beating noisy rivals Manchester United at the Emirates on Sunday to storm into the top 4.

Manchester United arrived into the match with a lot of confidence after beating PSG in the Champions League. The confidence was so high to an extend Eric Omondi promised to give his wife away if Manchester United lost the tie.

One of the most prominent Arsenal fans in Kenya is former Prime Minister Raila Odinga.

Now Raila was ones a staunch Manchester United fan but he switched to Arsenal later in life

Mr Odinga, who is known to involve football metaphors in his rallies, argues he left backing the 20-time English Champions because their fans had turned violent.

“For a whole year, Manchester United was playing without fans in the stadium. That is when I moved to support Arsenal. Since that time, I never left Arsenal,”

Mr Odinga, who has claimed he played for Luo Union football club (later known as Re-Union FC), may have been referring to the 1971 season when the English giants were penalised for crowd trouble.

That year, Manchester United were forced to play at their perennial rivals Liverpool home turf and Stoke City, after their fans threw knives into the away section the previous season.

The ban wasn’t for a whole year though. But Mr Odinga’s journey to supporting Arsenal is longer than that.
