Kenya’s Journalist shine at an African fete

Kenyan journalist have been feted at the Africa Media Network on Health (AMNH) Journalism Awards in Kigali, Rwanda.

An award ceremony was held on Wednesday, brought together some of Africa’s finest journalists from print, TV, radio and online categories.

Out of the 200 entries drawn from different media houses in Kenya, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania and Uganda, Kenyan’s contestants emerged the best.

In the TV category were Eunice Omollo from NTV-Kenya (winner), Mercy Kandie from the BBC (1st runners up) and Citizen TV’s Saida Swaleh (2nd runners up).

Winners from the radio, print and online categories were McDonald Gondwe (Malawi Broadcasting Corporation), Eunice Kilonzo (Nation Media Group) and Nancy Agutu ( The Star Kenya) respectively.

“These extraordinary finalists are all worthy of recognition for their tireless efforts in …They are essentially the best of the best,” said Prof Joachim Osur, the Director of Regional Programmes at Amref Health Africa.
