Central kenya leaders come to the defence of Ndindi Nyoro after Uhuru’s harsh rebuke

Kiharu Member of Parliament Ndindi Nyoro has not been on the good books with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

During the funeral of Murang’a Businessman Thayu Kabugi President Kenyatta told off the MP after he requested for Ksh5 million for development in his constituency.

To his response President Kenyatta, “I hear some people asking for money. Account for the monies that have been allocated in your National Government Constituency Development Funds which are worth Sh100 million instead of loitering the country with endless meetings and unending speeches.”

The central Kenya MPs have now comeout to defend the Kaharu member praising him as one of the most hardworking new legislators who has achieved a lot in his first year.

According to Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria said immediately after the 2017 General Election, Nyoro sought his help and today has among the most electricity connections in the country.

While echoing his sentiments, Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura said Nyoro is one of the most active legislators in Parliament and his NGCDF is one of the best managed.

Nyoro said it is unfortunate that leaders from poor backgrounds are disregarded, even when elected to Parliament.

“I am the son of a carpenter who lived in a slum in Thika. I belong to the tribe of the poor,” the MP said.

Many mourners were shocked by Uhuru’s harsh rebuke to a simple request, calling it unwarranted.
