The county government of Kirinyaga is on its final stages of preparation ahead of the devolution conference. The Former Devolution Cabinet Secretary Anne Waiguru-led government has distributed more than 100,000 condoms across the county as part of the preparation for the conference.
The condoms, which were distributed by the Kirinyaga County Public Health officers, can be accessed at social places.
A crew supplying the condoms told the Standard, that it will out to ensure that all the persons who will be attending the conference are going to be safe during their stay in the county.
They also noted that they were acting upon an order from the office of the governor.
“We ordered for these condoms well in advance since we are aware of the nature of human beings,” said an office who sought for anonymity, as quoted by Standard.
As part of the preparation for the conference, Governor Waiguru has also issues an notice to Public Service Operators over the change in routes as she seeks to avert traffic jams during the conference.
The guests are expected to use the special parking bay at the Kirinyaga University grounds. Those who will be travelling from Mwea, Kimunye an Kianyaga have been asked to use the Rukenya junction and connect with the Kutus road.
The drivers have been blocked from using the Kutus-Kerugoya road.
The conference comes at a time when President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured Kenyans that he is committed towards the implementation of the Big Four Agenda before he leaves office.
