REVEALED: Why Maina Kageni can’t spend a night in Ushago

Despite his numerous assets in and outside of the country, exotic high-end assortment of cars, apparently Maina has a problem with sleeping in his rural house.

During the morning conversation with Mwalimu Kingang’i, Maina couldn’t understand why people build houses on the countryside, also known as ‘ushago’ or ‘mashambani’.

“Why is it important to build in mashambani, and why are you wasting money building there and do you honestly intend to go back and leave in mashambani when you retire?” asked Maina Kageni on air. Adding, “I know it sounds crazy, but I’ve never spent the night in gichagi,” Maina confessed.

Maina Kageni went on to reveal that even when he was young, they would go to “ushago and go back to Nairobi the same day”.
