Spurs came into the Champions League without Harry Kane and Deli Alli who are out on injury related incidences leaving Christian Eriksen, Lucas Moura and Son Heung-min leading the line.
The Germany giants side were too wihout key star players Marcos Reus and striker Paco Alcácer who are ruled out with injury.
However, the German league leaders do have England star Jadon Sancho and Chelsea loanee Christian Pulisic in attack at Wembley.
Pulisic signed for the Blues last month although he is expected to link up with the new club next season, remaining at Borussia Dortmund until this season campaign is over.
