Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari believes his club can win a fourth consecutive Champions League; the former Madrid old boy saying was impossible for the European giants.
Asked what came to mind when he thought of the challenge of winning a fourth straight title, with Ajax next in the knockout stage, the head coach told UEFA: “Ajax are very well known for their work in the youth system, for their commitment to young talent and their offensive football.
“That’s the way they still work, with a team that has already shown that it was competitive last year and that it remains competitive this year. The tie is going to be difficult, as all these occasions in the Champions League.”

Madrid has been dominant in Europe in recent years, winning the continent’s top club competition in three straight seasons and despite being less convincing so far this campaign and will be up against Ajax in the first leg of their last-16 tie to be played in Amsterdam on Wednesday.
The team currently sits second on the La Liga table with 45 points; six points below leaders and arch-rivals Barcelona.
Ajax last won the competition in 1995.
