DP William Ruto’s meteoric rise in the Kenyan Political and Billionaires scene has time and again elicited various reactions among Kenyans and Politicians.

In Particular, his ever increasing wealth has made a section of leaders call for a lifestyle audit on him with many of them arguing that the DP now a PHD holder is the most corrupt individual in the country.

In an interview with BBC’s Stephen Sackur, who hosts the HARDtalk show, Ruto was asked to clear the air on why many see and describe him as Kenya’s Chief Priest of Corruption.

Ruto answered the question but not without dragging President Uhuru Kenyatta and AU High Envoy for Infrastructure Raila Odinga into the mix.

The DP said that an Ipsos survey also named President Uhuru Kenyatta, former Prime Minister Raila Odinga and “largely, all the political leaders that exist today in Kenya”.

Mr Ruto said the issue of corruption in Kenya has been politicised and that is why politicians are mostly the ones linked to graft by the public.

But his interviewer interjected, saying the Ipsos survey reveals that Kenyans do not trust their leaders on their promises to fight corruption.

This came after Ruto had earlier declined to reveal his net worth to Mr. Sackur and instead directing him to google and the Kenyan Parliament Website for facts on the same.

Do you believe Ruto when he says that the Fight against Corruption in Kenya has been politicised?
