“Give him what he wants!” DeGea Yet to Sign New Deal With Manchester United As Fans Anxiously Await His Decision!

Dave Saves; that is the highly coveted slogan that United fans have ‘christened’ their number one between the sticks.

Indeed, Dave does save. And he is one of the reasons why United currently sit in fourth.

Despite a tumultuous start to the season, United have bounced back thanks to conscientious efforts by DeGea, as well as an enriching attacking philosophy by interim manager, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer.

Yet to Sign New Deal

That being said, the Spaniard is yet to put pen to paper on a new deal with Manchester United.

According to reports, the Spaniard’ salary is at £200,000 but he is looking to have it bolstered to a whopping £350,000 every week!

His current deal is set to expire by the end of the season. However, considering how valuable the keeper is, the club is looking to secure him early on by triggering the one-year extension deal.

Nevertheless, the club and player seem to be heading towards an impasse considering the fact that they want to keep him there, but are hesitant to meet his high-end demands.

In fact, if they agree to DeGea’s handsome demands, he will become the second highest paid player in the premier league, interestingly behind fellow teammate Alexis Sanchez.

The Chilean, who pulled a ‘Van Persie’, is on a jaw-dropping £505,000 a week. However, his current performances have failed to validate his massive paycheck.

And perhaps this is one of the reasons why the club is hesitant to put a player on such a massive wage.

That being said, DeGea is in the running for the Golden Glove, having been the main man in all of United’s 26 Premier League matches, having kept a clean sheet in six games and ensuring the club 16 wins thus far.

If the club is unable to convince DeGea to sign, it will be a massive loss to the Red Devils, and just might tarnish their chances of a top 4 finish!
