Inspector General Joseph Boinett has ordered the arrest of civilians who wear outfits that resemble Police or Military Uniform.
Boinett issued this order saying that there has been a growing tendency by some persons who wear such attires.
As a result, civilians who wear such outfit create confusion amongst members of the public as to who is a genuine member of any of our security agencies.
Boinett says that criminals are also known to put on such attire masquerading as Police Officers and terrorize members of the public.
He condemned the practice saying that it must stop as it is against the law to wear clothing that have any resemblance to Military or Police uniforms.
In a statement issued earlier today, the Inspector General gave instructions to all Police Officers to arrest and charge in court anyone found wearing such attire.
Our attention has been drawn to the growing tendency by some persons to don attire resembling Police or Military uniforms which is creating confusion amongst members of the public as to who is a genuine member of any of our security agencies. 1/3
