Liverpool are braced for a huge swap deal offer from Real Madrid involving two forwards, according to a shock report. The Spanish giants allowed club legend Cristiano Ronaldo to join Juventus in the summer, without truly replacing his goals output, and are looking to put that right over the next two transfer windows. Spanish outlet Don Balon claimed earlier in the month that Firmino is one of Real Madrid’s main targets to upgrade their forward department.
Firmino is a crucial part of Liverpool’s fearsome attack, however the report did state that the Merseyside giants would apparently consider selling for €80million (£72m). However, Don Balon have offered a fresh update, stating that Real could be ready to offer £43million plus Marco Asensio to in order to tempt them to sell Firmino.
Firmino turns 28 next season, and recent reports seem to hint that Klopp is looking for an upgrade amid €40m links with Leipzig’s Timo Werner. RB Leipzig on the other hand are hoping to disappoint Liverpool by tying transfer target Timo Werner down to a new deal with a big release clause, a report claims. In December Bild reported that Jurgen Klopp was weighing up a move for Werner, who has so far refused to sign a new contract with the Bundesliga club – a situation which has unnerved Leipzig.

Werner spoke last month of a possible move, but also suggested that he could remain with his current club for a further year and then leave on a free in 2020. But Leipzig’s CEO Oliver Mintzlaff has told Werner that unless he agrees to a contract extension then he will be sold next summer. “Of course we have to know at the latest after the end of the season”.
