The Deputy President William Ruto joined a group of Mourners in Thogoto , Kiambu County for the last farewell of the renown Professor Abel Mugenda.
The Deputy President was joined by other top government officials including the Chief Justice David Maraga, Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu among other top officials.
In the his words Ruto described Professor Mugenda as an icon in the education sector:
“Prof Abel Mugenda was an acclaimed academic and educator, whose published works expounded on the body of research and knowledge in our learning institutions. He was a brilliant mind; teaching, mentoring and inspiring a generation of young leaders.”
He also described him as a peaceable man:
“Prof Mugenda’s humble, affable and irresistible mien won many hearts. Compassion and philanthropy was the story of his life. Rest In Peace.”
Professor Mugenda will be remembered for his work in the Research Sector of this country. His work will remain to be a reflection of his determination to enrich the nation with deep education knowledge.
