Marakwet East MP Kangogo Bowen was validly and legitimately elected. This is according to the Supreme Court of Kenya.
The apex court ruled that the Court of Appeal did not err in upholding Kangogo Bowen as duly elected MP.
The Court of Appeal reinstated Kangogo as Marakwet East MP, saying he was rightfully elected.
Kangogo’s election was nullified by the High Court after voter Sammy Kemboi said the August 8, 2017 vote was not transparent.
Congratulations Hon.Kangogo Bowen, Marakwet East for successfully defending your victory in the Supreme Court. Now you can serve our people without encumbrances!

The judges also dismissed findings by High Court judge Kanyi Kimondo that two unregistered polling stations were used on voting day.
Further, the Supreme Court also ruled that Gatundu North MP Anne Kibe was validly elected in the 2017 General Election.
The trial court had nullified the elections.
The Apex court says the trial court should have considered whether the irregularities had affected the final results.
