Gor Mahia Depart for Cameroon without striker Denis Oliech

Gor Mahia will leave for Cameroon on Friday morning for the return leg of the CAF Confederations Cup qualifier against hosts New Stars without crucial players.

Legendary striker Denis Oliech, who has scored two goals in as many matches will miss the trip as he has not been registered for the competition

K’ogallo will miss the services of Captain Haron Shakava and another key center back Joash Onyango who were suspended by CAF last week over what was described as indiscipline. They will also be missing the services of experienced midfielder Humphrey Mieno, who completed a switch to Ethiopian side St. George over the weekend.

The three formed the spine of the team in last season’s competitions when Gor Mahia came close to qualifying to the knockouts for the first time in their history.

However, Gor carries a slim advantage having labored to a 2-1 win over New Stars in the first leg and will need to avoid defeat to qualify and reach the group stages for the second successive season.

They will rely on the services of lethal Ugandan import Erisa Sekisambu who bagged a hat-trick in a 4-1 demolition of struggling Mt. Kenya on Wednesday. Another key player Jacques Tuyisenge was rested on Wednesday and will be rearing to go on Sunday.

Gor ar expected in Dar on Monday morning when the Sportpesa Cup begins. They have never lost a match in the competition and have won it back to back.
