Ex-Arsenal man calls for Chicharito signing amid reports of January switch to Valencia

Former Arsenal defender Gabriel Paulista believes Javier Hernandez would “add more quality” to Valencia if he joins the La Liga side this month.

The Mexican international is once again linked with a West Ham exit after struggling following his move from Bayer Leverkusen ahead of last season.

In and out of the team under Manuel Pellegrini, the 30-year-old has netted five goals for the team this season, including a double in the impressive 3-0 win over Newcastle United at the start of December.

Behind Marko Arnautovic in the pecking order at the London Stadium, the ex-Manchester United man has made no secret of his desire to move on in the past.

Valencia are one of the clubs believed to be interested in Hernandez and the player himself is reportedly keen on a move to the Mestalla.

With Michy Batshuayi struggling for Los Blancos following his loan move from Chelsea at the start of the season, Gabriel feels that the signing of the Mexican would help Valencia if it did indeed come to fruition.
