If their is any movie that has shaped the entire movie industry in the entire globe is Wakanda movie. It is with with doubt the best ever movie to be produced by the marvel studios.

Black Panther is not just a movie. It’s not just a superhero movie. It’s an event of historical and cultural significance, one that we may not experience for a long time after this.

Without getting too preachy, try and understand that there aren’t many mainstream movies with a predominantly black cast that feature us in positions of royalty. Minutes into the movie, I couldn’t help but wonder if this was how my parents felt watching Coming to America.

When you’re used to see black people on TV and movies living in public housing developments, plantations or in an affluent neighborhood where they are pretty much the only minority around, it’s awe inspiring to see a world where all of us are regal. For once we were portrayed as the most technologically advanced civilization. There were no stereotypes at all. No thugs, no baby mamas, nobody was lazy or dim witted or only saw two ways to “make it out.” Everyone from the farmers to the royal officials in Wakanda was honorable.

It was special to see a world where black excellence was the norm. It reminded me of the education I didn’t receive about the African kingdoms. The only mention they had was right before we were enslaved. It’s nice to for once sit in a theater and see something that inspires me instead of pisses me off. You know what I’m talking about, for every Black Panther there are thousands of Fruitvale Stations, 12 Years a Slaves and Djangos.

This is the same feeling shared by Lupita Nyong’o. Through her Instagram page Lupita has come out to talk of how Black Panther has been a driving force to the transformation of the entire movie industry globally.
