Ahead of their crucial meeting on Saturday 22nd December, Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed how AS Roma players begged him not to score more goals against them in a Champions League fixture back in 2007.
At that time, the 33-year-old was playing for Manchester United who had thrashed the Italian side 7-1 at Old Trafford in the quarter-final with Ronaldo scoring twice, but with the score still at 6-0, Roma players threatened the Portuguese against scoring any more goals.
“When it was 6-0, they asked me to stop, an opponent begged me to stop dribbling. Others threatened me. Roma? There is no player with whom I would exchange a shirt.” Ronaldo revealed in an interview with the Express.
The Old Lady, yet to lose a match this season, will be strong favorites again as they host a Roma side that has only won six of their opening 16 league matches so far.
