Manchester United ‘Most Determined’ In Tanguy Ndombele Transfer Race

Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele has been linked with a number of clubs recently, but Manchester United are reportedly the “most determined” to secure his signature.

According to France Football (h/t Tom Coast of Sport Witness), the Red Devils are showing more interest in the Lyon starlet than any other club, including their local rivals Manchester City.

It’s added United have the money needed to pull off a deal for the 21-year-old, who has enjoyed a couple of breakthrough seasons with the Ligue 1 outfit.

According to France Football, the uncertainty that continues to swirl around United boss Jose Mourinho is a potential issue for getting any deal completed, as is the fact the Red Devils are looking unlikely to challenge for a spot in the Premier League’s top four this term.

Speaking with Canal Football Club (h/t Rich Jones of the Daily Mirror) recently, Ndombele said he could have potentially moved somewhere other than Lyon in the summer; his loan deal from Amiens was made permanent ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

“I could have gone, maybe things would have worked out well,” he said. “The club was firm, they didn’t want me to leave. I didn’t feel like leaving, and I think that today you can see that it was the best decision for me.”

Ndombele is making strides in what is a bright and attack-minded Lyon side, bossing many a midfield battle in Ligue 1 and the UEFA Champions League.

Based on WhoScored.com’s rating system, there isn’t a young player who has done better than the Lyon man in Europe’s premier club competition this season.
