This is the amount of money your child will receive when they report to school

The government in recent times has showed his determination in making the education system in Kenya be successful. While in South Africa last month the President insisted on the need of increasing budget allocation to the education sector to meet the international agreed standards.

This is no longer a dream or a vision for the country as all the tools are directed towards the agenda of rebuilding the education system in the country.

The Education ministry has allocated Sh6,000 per student each year to cater for maintenance and improvement of learning in public secondary schools, CS Amina Mohamed has said.

She said the money is part of the Sh22,244 Free Day Secondary Education funds. Funds under maintenance and improvement of learning will cater for facilities such as classrooms, science laboratories, hostels and dining halls. Parents with children in boarding schools will contribute Sh2,000 towards the maintenance and improvement of infrastructure.

This is among the new measures the government has decided to implement as it promised 100% transition from one level of education to the next.

Also this move is tied with the government big agendas which are put in place to ensure that the access to education is universal.

This comes as the Ministry of Education failed to roll out the new curriculum which was supposed to be effected January 2019.

The ministry sited lack of enough machinery to enable laying out of the program which was considered as appropriate that will capitalize in inclusivity and skills oriented.
