It seems Okoth Obado is a man who never learns from his mistakes. And they say people who don’t learn are fools.
After spending 34 tumultuous days at Industrial Area Police Station, a time in which he chewed loots of sukuma wiki and half cooked ugali, I thought the governor would do anything not to get himself at that place again.
But just like any other stupid politician, the Migori governor has decided that he will use politics to solve the predicament he is currently facing.
Sharon Otieno, was Obado’s girlfriend. They had numerous escapades together that led to a pregnancy. Nobody, except Sharon and the governor know what really went wrong in the relationship to warrant such a cruel murder.
Kenyans were not there, when they started the relationship and when it ended. In fact we wouldn’t know about all the drama if the 26 year old hadn’t been found in a thicket in Kodera forest.
So why is Obado walking around asking for prayers? Is he just trying to mock God? I just don’t understand how God works. Because Sharon’s family is also praying for justice. So whom will God listen to?
“If you pray for me, I will get out of the crocodile’s mouth,” that’s what Obado said on Saturday during a funds drive in Nyabururu Catholic Parish in Kisii County. He had accompanied the Deputy President, a man who has mastered the art of using the church to his favor.
As expected, his choice of the word crocodile has elicited a lot of reactions in Nyanza. After all, it is the same crocodiles that stopped Raila from taking Kenyans to Canaan.
On Friday, during the burial of Mzee Peter Musyoka Maingi, Ruto reminded Raila that river Jordan had no crocodiles. In fact the DP has launched an ambitious plan of translating the Bible to different vernacular languages, so Kenyans can really understand the book of Exodus.
So, who are the crocodiles in Obado’s case? is it the judiciary led by Justice Jessie Lessit, who was so lenient to let him off the hook, despite him being the main suspect in the double homicide?
Or is it the family of Sharon, his girlfriend? The woman who was gang raped before being stabbed eight times. One of the stabs penetrated her belly and killed Obado’s unborn son.
By asking for prayers, Obado is commenting on a matter before court and I believe he should be arrested for breaking one strict orders he was given before his release.
