Kalasha Awards. Kalasha International Awards is an annual accolade presented by Kenya Film Commission. Entries into the award ceremony are films and TV series that have been aired on Kenyan television stations. The inaugural awards were held in 2010 and subsequent awards are held yearly at the last quarter of the year.

This comes as the number of Films and TV series done by Kenyans continue receiving international recognition. Rafiki for instance got picked to participate in the Oscars this year but failed because of government measures which had banned the showing of the movie because of the content which was said to be encouraging homosexual relationships in Kenya.
