Police lobbed teargas to fans as they tried to force their way into the Kasarani stadium to witness kenya vs Ethiopia match.
Hell broke loose when police officers manning the gates closed down some of the gates in an effort to control the crowds streaming in.
People became agitated by the move and started chanting the slogans while charging forward.

Reports indicate that the fans had tried to force their way into the stadium through Gates 6, 3 and 12.
Kasarani stadium has a 60,000 seats capacity and the rallying call #JazaStadi (Let us fill up the stadium) seams to have bore fruits.
Harambee Stars players received a standing ovation from the fans when they made an acknowledgement appearance at the pitch before the beginning of the match.
