Kenyans on twitter have faulted Obado’s lawyers and claimed that if Obado is denied bail then his lawyers will be to be blamed. Obado has today been presented to court for the second time where his lawyers request that he is released on bail after he was arrested over the murder of Sharon Otieno. In the previous case, Judge Jessie Lessit had denied him bail leading him to be sent behind bars for more days.
Kenyans have stated that the argument of the lawyers may not be convincing enough and therefore may lead to a second time denial of bail. This was in reaction to the statements made by his lawyers.
In their argument one stated that Obado has a right to bail giving his reasons that “There is nowhere the 1st accused (Okoth Obado) has been directly mentioned to have links to any crime before. He also added that obado was arrested out of public pressure”
Lawyers also argued that there has been a total of 6 people arrested – Of those arrested some were known/ unknown to the 1st accused (Okoth Obado), including employees of the county government and there is no complain of any difficulty he caused in the investigation leading to the arrest.
The lawyer also said that Obado had been cooperating with the police officers during the investigative stage and his detention has only caused hardships to him and his family.
