“Fake currency to beat VAT? ” KOT react to ‘Westlands arrest’

Kenyans on twitter have reacted to the arrest of Chad nationalities who were caught with fake currency. The reaction came after police in Nairobi recovered fake money valued at 3 billion shillings. Three suspects have been nabbed. The money was found in a house along Brookeside Drive at Brookside gardens in Westlands. The suspects are reported to have been conning Kenyans in the name of paying for them.

The DCI confirmed  this arrest on their twitter platform earlier this evening.

“The Director of Criminal Investigations have announced that detectives today afternoon arrested three men namely  (both nationals of )& , a Kenyan, who is their driver following a tip-off from members of public. The three were found with over a billion fake currency. The three men were arrested in an apartment within Nairobi by the  officers who also managed to recover the fake currency which was in dollars and Euros.    reads tweet

The racket is alleged to have been scamming Kenyans with promise of doubling their money. Sources reveal that  in another room, the police also found strange objects in form of animal skin and beads believed to be used by the suspects for witchcraft purposes.
