Improvement of Police Living standards and Salaries among changes made in National Police Service

President Uhuru Kenyatta has today Thursday made several changes in the national police service during the National security conference held at the Kenya school of Governance in Kabete.

In the conference themed at Promoting Trust,Synergy & Professionalism in security sector for development, Uhuru said the nation has made aggressive advances in acquiring equipment, raising salaries and improving living standards of the police.

The aggressive advances among them raising house allowances for police are expected to take effect come December this year.

In his move to promote trust, the president said the deputy IG (Kenya Police Service) will now have to focus on public safety and security as the deputy IG (Administration Police) focuses on protective and border security as well as combating cattle rustling.

The changes we usher in today are meant to deepen the transformation of police. The changes are meant to boost the morale of the police by improving their conditions of service,” said Uhuru.

He also launched the policy framework and strategy for the re-organisation of the National Police Service which he expressed his believe to reflect the ambition he expect and that its recommendations will be implemented to completion.

Moreover, the president cited that the changes will make the police more than equal to the threats that face the nation as he launched new uniforms for general duty police after merging administration police with kenya police.
