An opportunity of a lifetime awaits Gor Mahia in England

Steve Gerrard’s Rangers scouts will attend the Sportpesa exhibition match pitting Everton and Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia.

Former Kilmarnock favourite Dylan Kerr, who now manages team known as K’Ogalo, revealed on social media that the Ibrox side will be keeping tabs on some emerging African talent.

The pair will clash on November 6, after Mahia emerged victorious in the Sports Pesa Cup to earn the right to face Marco Silva’s side.

Steven Gerrard and director of football Mark Allen could well be running the rule over stars from the Premier League side but they may also be looking to stay aware of the rising stars from further afield.

If the name Gor Mahia rings a bell then it may have something to do with former Aberdeen trialist and Scottish football cult hero Khalid Aucho, who previously played for Mahia before he headed to Pittdorie in 2016.

It was a busy summer for Gerrard as he landed 15 new players and the Ibrox side have plenty to look forward to after reaching the Europa League group stage.
