From David Mwai to Sharon Otieno; Have our Governors turned into Murderers?

In less than one week, two Kenyans have died mysteriously. Two governors are also being heavily linked in this mysterious deaths.

First it was the death of David Mwai, a key suspect in the shooting of former Garrissa County Finance Executive Idriss Mukhtar. David is said to have hanged himself at Parklands police station where he was hanged held by police over the shooting.

But the story does not add up since it is highly unlikely that a person can commit suicide in a police cell where you’re not allowed to have any metal. Mwai was also not alone in the cell at the time of his death and there is no way the inmates wouldn’t have made noise.

Activist Boniface Mwangi believes Mwai was killed to cover up a big fish in this case. and the big fish is none other than Garissa governor Ali Gorane.

“Last year, Ali ran for public office and Idriss Muktar joined his campaign team. Idriss later fell out with Ali Korane and decided to expose the Governor’s fake academic credentials. Korane had claimed he had a masters from Nairobi University and Idriss had evidence that Korane’s academic credentials were fake. It’s alleged that Governor Korane then engaged Mohamed Hussein Aden to deal with Idriss. It is Mohammed who is alleged to have recruited David Mwai for the job and offered to pay him Sh2.4 million.”

But barely days after Mwai’s death, the country wakes up to another death. This time the heinous murder of Sharon Otieno, a Rongo University student. To make matters worse, the lady was seven months pregnant. What kind of animal kills a pregnant woman?

Migori governor, Okoth Obado has been heavily mentioned in this case. She was abducted together with Nation Journalist Barack Oduor on Monday night has been found dead.

Sharon and Oduor were kidnapped moments after being lured out of Graca Hotel in Rongo around 7.35pm Monday by Governor Okoth Obado’s Personal Assistant Michael Oyamo.

Does this mean that our governors have turned into brutal murderers? I think so, and I think they do it because they know they can get away with it.
