Mike Oduor put Sofapaka ahead in the 15th minute from a corner delivery that the visiting side won as they pushed their hosts deep into their area. Patrick Kwitonda headed Nzoia ahead in the 22nd minute. Sofapaka now found it hard to deal with a surging Nzoia and the second goal was a sweet comeback from the Millers who had to deal with Batoto ba Mungu’s early attacks.

Brian Magonya and Pistone Mutamba were introduced by John Barasa in an attempt to get the second goal and put things at par. Michael Oduor and Elly Asieche vacated their positions for the new entrants.

Waruru scored the fourth goal of the match and second to the visitors in the 66th minute. Nzoia were punished for backpedalling and allowing Sofapaka attack from wide areas and dominance of midfield.
