Ousmane Dembele, Coman and the Deals that Arsenal Could Complete on Deadline Day

Arsenal seem to have completed their transfer business early. This is a surprise that new coach Unai Emery has brought which is totally different from the Wenger era.

Stephan Lichtsteiner , Bernd Leno, Sokratis Papastathopoulos, Matteo Guendouzi , Lucas Torreira are the four players that arrived at the Emirates. But Emery desperately needs a new winger and could therefore be making a move on the deadline day.

Here are the players that could land at the club today.

Ousmane Dembele
BARCELONA star Ousmane Dembele has been linked with Arsenal and Liverpool amid uncertainty over his future. Dembele is ready to excite Arsenal and Liverpool fans by pressing for a Nou Camp exit this summer.

We have seen a flurry of bets this afternoon for Arsenal to beat off competition from their Premier League rivals for the services of Ousmane Dembele and as a result the Gunners are now the favourites to sign the Frenchman,” said Coral’s John Hill.

Reports have claimed the France international, seething at Barca’s decision to sign Malcom from Bordeaux, is keen to leave the club in pursuit of regular, first-team football.

Arsenal want a winger with Dembele on a list of targets Unai Emery would love to sign.  Liverpool have also been linked but, in a sensational twist, Jurgen Klopp has supposedly decided not to pursue the 21-year-old.

And Coral have Arsenal as favourites to sign Dembele as speculation over his Barcelona future continues to rumble on. Arsenal are priced at 2/1 to seal the signing of the wing wizard, with Liverpool available at 6/1.

Chelsea have then been made 8/1 outsiders to land Dembele, with Tottenham and PSG at 10/1 and 12/1 respectively. Coral have then slapped 16/1 and 20/1 odds on Manchester United and Manchester City to sign the Barcelona star.

Dembele netted just four goals from 23 outings for Barcelona last season.

Kingsley Coman

Last week, Football London journalist Charles Watts said Emery wanted Dembele over Bayern Munich’s Kingsley Coman.

He said: “Kingsley Coman is a player most sides in Europe would be looking at if he we available – and Arsenal are no different. He plays in an area that Emery would ideally like to strengthen, although I still believe Ousmane Dembele is the wide attacker that the club really want.

“Getting Dembele out of Barcelona though looks very unlikely, unless they agree to a loan, so Coman would certainly be a player of interest at the Emirates.”

Who will Leave?

Arsenal today agreed completed the sale of Lucas Perez to West Ham on a three-year deal.

Perez, 29, joined Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruna in August 2016 and spent last season on loan back at the Spanish club. “I’m very excited, as West Ham are giving me the chance to stay in the Premier League and I’m very happy to be part of this new project,” Perez said on West Ham’s official website.

“West Ham have great fans and play in an amazing stadium, so to sign here brings me great joy. I’m very motivated.”

Perez scored seven times in 21 appearances for Arsenal, including a hat-trick in the Champions League away to Basel. However, the striker then opted to return to Deportivo on loan last season in search of more regular first-team football.

In a message on his personal Twitter account, Perez said: “I would like to thank Arsenal fans for their support, they always showed me great affection and love from the first time I arrived in London. I also want to give my thanks to my team-mates and to the staff of this club for giving me the opportunity to make my debut in one of the best leagues in the world and win the FA Cup.

“I wish you all the best for the future and I hope you can go on and achieve great things.”

He could be followed by David Ospina, Danny Welbeck, Carl Jenkinson and Joel Campbell.
