ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) - The driver in a crash that left three teenagers dead has violated a condition of her suspended sentence.
Hailey Zenk entered an Alford plea in April in connection with the crash that killed Emily McNees, Kaeden Tyler and Will Flickinger.
In June, Zenk, 17 at the time of the crash, was sentenced to 10 years for driving while intoxicated, resulting in two or more deaths, seven years for DWI leading to serious injury, and seven years each for three counts of involuntary manslaughter. She was given a suspended execution of her sentence and will instead serve 120 days in jail and then five years of probation following her release.
Zenk’s suspended execution of sentence also included SCRAM alcohol monitoring.
On Monday, First Alert 4 confirmed that Zenk’s SCRAM detected alcohol less than two months after she had it installed. Lincoln County Prosecutor Mike Wood said his office filed a motion to revoke Zenk’s suspended sentence.
Wood said that the decision is now in the hands of a judge to decide what the next steps are in regards to Zenk.
