Uhuru Allies Plot to Kick Out Ruto as DP; 4 Extra Costs Facing Parents om School Reopening & “Angry and Bitter Ruto Planning Violence in Kisumu,” Junet Alleges

Good morning,

When will Kenya ever get a leader who is actually in touch with the needs of the citizens?

The ongoing wheelbarrow vs BBI debate is quite laughable.

While we understand that, Deputy President William Ruto probably has the interests of the ‘hustler’ electorate at heart, someone needs to hit him with a reality check: It is 2020.

Most hustlers out there are highly educated persons, who lack employment. What they need to be empowered with are tools that match their skills, not those that degrade their efforts to get through school.

Instead of wheelbarrows and hand-cart, what hustlers need are items such as laptops, that they can use to tap into the expansive money-making opportunities available on digital platforms.

On the other hand, ODM leader Raila Odinga also needs a reality check.

We understand that, he also probably has the interests of the country at heart, but the only solution to violence, and ethnic hatred is actively keeping our youth busy, and not passing passive policies such as the BBI proposals.

Imagine if the DP and Raila combined the resources currently being used to drive the BBI and wheelbarrow movements, to (logically) empower the Kenyan youth.

Just because we are classified as a third world country, does not mean we have to remain that way.

Just because you are self-made, from blue-collar jobs, ultimately to white-collar ones, does not mean we cannot make Kenya a fully white-collar economy.

The truth stings, but someone has to say it.

Here are the stories making headlines on Opera News today:
