Nothing lasts forever. That is what Liverpool found out on Saturday after their 44 matches unbeaten run was brought to an end by a spirited Watford side at Vicarage Road.
Senegalese star Ismail Sarr scored twice and assisted the other as Watford thrashed Jurgen Klopp and his lackluster team. It was the first time in over a year that the Reds were facing defeat in the league.
They remain top of the table and are 22 points above Manchester City in second. Though the win moved Watford further from the relegation zone, it meant more to Arsenal than possibly any other English Premier League team.
The loss means that Liverpool will not equal or surpass Arsenal’s record of going a whole season without tasting defeat in the league. The record was set in 2004 when Arsene Wenger’s team won the league without losing a single match and went on to play 49 top-flight matches unbeaten.
As always, Arsenal fans took to Twitter to remind everyone who the real invincibles are. Below are some of the best tweets…
Liverpool just got destroyed 3-0 by Watford. This humiliation alone means they don’t deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the unbeatable Arsenal Invincibles. https://t.co/azxG0Om86e

Other managers have dreamt it but didn’t have the courage to say it.
Others said it but didn’t have the genius to achieve it.
Others can’t even predict it.
Arsene Wenger had the audacity to dream it, the belief to predict it and the genius to achieve it.#Invincibles pic.twitter.com/tXmsyc5kKP

Liverpool will win the league, they'll probably break the points record, they've destroyed everyone this season, however there will only ever be 1 invincibles #49undefeated pic.twitter.com/laRr59rUQO
