Kenyan celebs have all at one point or another been caught up in some sort of altercation. But not all of them have taken the high road. Some have resorted to fisticuffs.
It’s a pretty rare occurrence since you’d figure most celebrities, just like ordinary people, value their lucrative careers over the temporary high you’d get from punching someone.
Here’s a look at some celebs who let the fists fly.
MP Washiali
National Assembly Chief Whip Benjamin Washiali is on the spot over a video showing him beating up a villager in Mumias, Kakamega County.
The video, whose date we are yet to establish, shows Washiali slapping, punching and kicking an unidentified man along a road in a sugarcane plantation and is ably assisted by his unidentified aides.

However,it’s not the first time MP Washilia was taped assaulting someone, another undated Video of Washiali harassing Kakamenga Governor Wickliffe Oparaya almost engaging him in a fistfight.
I remember this day when Raila was visiting Mumias and Benjamin Washiali harrassed @GovWOparanya almost engaging him in a fist fight! This is a replica of Ruto’s arrogance, this is what they will do once in statehouse-EPUKA! pic.twitter.com/6YISFx0c0T

Willy Paul
Two years ago, the controversial gospel artist, Willy Paul was caught on camera beating up a female companion outside a residential area.
In the video, the lady can be heard screaming and calling his name.
Then the artiste smashes her phone on the ground. The drama attracted onlookers and guards guarding the estate came to the scene to intervene but the angry singer pulls the lady who was in the car and slaps her more.
Redson
The saddest and ugliest side of Kenyan dancehall artiste Redsan has been exposed in a leaked audio recording, just days after the launch of his latest studio album, Baddest.
The audio, which has since gone viral, was reportedly recorded when Redsan allegedly pounced on and assaulted a Tanzanian producer who is credited for the newly released album.
In the audio, Redsan (real name Swabri Mohammed) is heard shouting at Sappy.
“Nataka usimame wewe ni mwanaume. Simama,” Redsan is heard saying with sounds of what appear to be slaps and chairs being pulled also being heard.
Jaguar
Three years ago, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and his Starehe Counterpart Charles Njagua alias Jaguar, which saw the two exchange blows in parliament shocked the nation.
All this drama started after, Jaguar, who was elected on Jubilee ticket got irritated after Babu Owino referred to President Uhuru Kenyatta as the caretaker president.
Jaguar accused Babu of disrespecting President Uhuru but Babu, on the other hand, retorted that Kenya has no president.
The exchange which occurred at the MPs restaurant lounge could have turned physical, were it not for the timely intervention of parliamentary catering staff who managed to calm down the two lawmakers.
Sonko
Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko is once again on the spot for beating up a journalist covering his summon at the Ethics and Anti Corruption Commission.
Sonko beat up Photo Journalist Collins Kweyu who was rushing to cover his entrance at the EACC gates.
Kweyu had rushed to the gate in his attempt to enter EACC premises before Sonko made his entry.
He was however briefly held at the gate by security officers hence briefly blocking the governor from making his entry.
It is at that point that Sonko and his bodyguard hit him on the head before pulling him and shoving him on the side.
