Former Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale remarks left many Kenyans puzzled in regards to his attack during the Kibra by-election.
Khalwale, during an interview on NTV’s AM Live show, defended himself on why he retaliated after being stoned in Laini Saba ward in the area.
The tough talking politician affirmed that he was not the type of person to back away from a fight.
According to the ex-medical officer it would have been a disgrace to his culture if he decided to run away, in what would have been termed as an act of cowardice.
“Never in the culture of a Luhya man can you allow an uncircumcised boy to challenge you and you run away,” stated Khalwale.

Moreover, the leader nicknamed the ‘bull fighter’ asserted that the matter should not be taken as a joke.
The politician who was once the MP for Ikolomani, reiterated that the incident was a case of life and death and that he had to take such measures.
“Some people are making a joke out of an issue of life and death,” the ex-senator expressed.
He added that,”A man must have the capacity to defend himself, his family and his country.”

Earlier, Rarieda MP Otiende Amollo mocked Khalwale by mimicking his behavior during the ‘stone throwing contest’.
Amollo was also joined in the trolling of the 59 year-old by Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi before Khalwale joined them.

The lawmaker made fun that the Ikolomani man had underwent a complete change into a different person.
“Boni Khalwale has undergone a complete metamorphosis. From a medical practitioner to a renown bullfighting politician and more recently a tour guide in Sugoi farm and now a stone throwing Kibra operative,” commented the ODM party member.
Netizens a week ago, had gone all out to try the Boni Khalwale Challenge with some even using foodstuffs to depict the politician’s stance when pictured holding stones.
