Mutoro was in the best form of his life bagging 32 points for Kenya as the Morans overcame the hard-fighting North Africans to set a final date against Dr. Congo who overcame Angola in the other semi-final match.

Not known to many, Mutoro is a soldier by profession, he is in the rank of a corporal having worked as a soldier for over six years. On Thursday he literally defended the nation in Mali. KDF has taken to social media to congratulate the player and the Kenyan team.

“For the first time in Kenyan basketball history, Kenya men basketball team Morans qualifies to AFROCHAN finals in Mali with the top scorer so far from Ulinzi Warriors; Cpl Eric Mutoro. Morans play DRC on Saturday. Ulinzi Warriors currently lead KBF Premier League with 31 points,” read the statement.
