President Uhuru’s Kenyatta’s outburst at Kasarani on Sunday against early politicking has seen a group against Deputy President William Ruto’s 2022 presidential ambition come to his defense.
Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has accused DP Ruto of sabotaging Mt. Kenya development through launching projects which never take off.
Ngunjiri, who was speaking on Tuesday during an interview on Citizen TV, claimed that over 48 projects that were launched in Central Kenya by Ruto were yet to take off.
“The DP Ruto launched 48 projects in central region last year. All of them have not taken off even one” said Ngunjiri.

Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria who was also in the panel discussion supported Ngunjiri’s notion, saying that some of the projects were tendered and approved but when the National Assembly Budget and Appropriation Committee were to allocate money for them they realized there were no funds.
The vocal legislators went on to claim that the ground is unhappy since leaders were not doing what they were elected to do.
“The people against the ‘handshake’, who are they fighting for yet Uhuru Kenyatta told us that the political contest was over? This is what angers the president because he expects us to be his foot soldiers, “Nguunjiri claimed.

Ruto has severally been accused of slow implementation of projects launched.
Recently, ODM Mp Opiyo Wanday told off Ruto over his purported launch of Mega Projects in their constituencies without informing them. He says it’s pure PR and such projects are ghost projects as they require consultation from all leaders in the region.
