All roads on Saturday June 1, 2019 led to Narok County to mark the Madaraka Day celebrations at Narok Stadium, the day that marks the beginning of self-ruling in Kenya, which was first marked on June 1, 1963 under the leadership of Kenya’s fore father Mzee Jomo Kenyatta.
The Saturday event at Narok Stadium was presided over by President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Kenyans converged at the stadium tio mark the day in style, with Maasai Morans showing their patriotism during the event by gowning their Maasai outfit with Kenyan flag.
How did you celebrate Madaraka Day? Did you go to Narok? Did you either send messages of goodwill to the beautiful nation of Kenya?
Narok tourism executive Joseph Koila said security has been strengthened with the deployment of police officers across the region. #MadarakaDay

Well, former Vice President Moody Awuory’s daughter, Ambassador Prof Judi Wakhungu had her own style of celebrating the day.
While wishing Kenyans a memorable Madaraka Day, Prof Wakhungu who is currently in France said she would spend her whole day watching the Paris Sevens, where Kenya’s side will be playing.
She wished the Kenya Sevens National Rugby team all the best.
“Wishing you a memorable Madaraka Day. I’ll spend the day watching the Paris Sevens. All the best to Kenya Sevens National Rugby Team,” she tweeted.
