Pioneer Musician Juacali has narrated how he was conned after he got a gig in Eldoret a couple years back.
The ‘Kiasi’ hitmaker says that there was a time he went to Busia County for a show when the incident happened.
Before the show, Juacali recalls that they demanded to be paid the remaining amount according to the agreement but at that time, the club was so packed and the organizer used this to convince them to perform.
Juacali says that after performing during the show, the organizer still insisted that more people were coming in and therefore their money will be given to them in the morning.
The Singer went to bed on that day with high hopes only to wake up the next day and find out that the organizer had traveled to Uganda with the money.
Juacali says he has never met the organizer ever again but he later learnt that he passed on.
He also narrates that after the incident, they were forced to get on the next bus and travel back to Nairobi.
His advice to musicians who are requested to perform despite not getting full pay, Juacali says that fans do not know what happens behind the scenes and it is important for them to to be filled in.
His opinion is that in case an artiste is paid halfway it is best that they at least give a performance that matches the cost.
