Murang’a Governor Mwangi Wa Iria has stepped up the game to defend the Governors who have been victimized by the Senate Public Accounts Committee.
Appearing before the same Public Accounts Committee chaired by Homa Bay Senator, Moses Kajwang’ to answer to audit queries, Governor Wa Iria has lectured the Senate Committee on the zeal they use to grill the Governors.

“Senators/Senate should use the same energy they use to grill Governors over County Expenditure to Defend and Enhance the Core and Rationale of Devolution,” Mwangi Wa Iria told the committee.
Mwangi Wa Iria has also raised concern on the Senate Committee turning the whole audit query for their political gains.
“The Leadership and Exercise of Senate’s Public Accounts and Investment Committee should be devoid of Politics and Political Conspiracies,” Stated Mwangi Wa Iria.
Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been a victim of the Senate embarrassment after his county producing a budget line which resembles the State House.
But the office of the Auditor General under the leadership of Dr Edward Ouko has come out to own the mistake.
